1 million items later...
Hi! Tradonos designer, Nicklas, with some product news 👋.
When you update Tradono you'll see that we've changed the way you put something for sale. This is one of the last parts of the app which we haven't touched since we launched October 2014.
On traditional marketplaces it takes ages and thousands of steps to put something for sale. So our initial idea was to create a flow that made it as simple as taking a photo.
The new flow
1 million items posted on Tradono later, I think it's safe to say that it worked pretty well. However, each week a few thousand items are deleted instantly after they are listed — which smelled like a bad experience 🙈. After testing with users I did see some of them having trouble understanding the interface. Other data showed that most people are adding a description to their listing but too few added a category (which is bad for buyers). Therefore we have created a flow that facilitates that better.
Now, we still wanted to keep it as simple as before and it still is: take one or several photos (1) and add info — or just put for sale right away (2)
Our developers Morten, Rasmus and Peter have also been working hard to give you guys something extra in this update.
Many of you are editing in other apps because you know that better images of your items is making them sell faster. Therefore we wanted to make it possible for everyone to do that directly in Tradono! We've now added two essential tools for that — exposure and contrast..
We will of course continue to improve, so if you have feedback or ideas for other types of filters etc., that can make your items look even better, please let me know in the comments. We are aware that we have a problem with cropping of images and we are working on improving that.
That's it! Please post a few items and let me know in the comments below how it worked out for you. Thank you so much for all the feedback and ideas 🙏
